INTRODUCTORY FLIGHT LESSON

The Introductory flight is a comprehensive flight lesson aligned with our Private Pilot Syllabus. The objective of the lesson is to familiarize the student with the training airplane, covering its operating characteristics, flight deck controls, instruments, and systems.

This introductory lesson introduces pre-flight and post-flight procedures, emphasizes the use of checklists, and highlights safety precautions. Students will gain an understanding of the effect and use of flight controls, along with familiarization with the local practice area and airport. 

The Flight concludes with a post-flight briefing and a preview of the programs offered by Lunken Flight Training Center.

Please allow approximately 2 hours total time for the Introductory Flight Lesson which includes a course presentation. Total time in aircraft is about 1 hour and 6 minutes, 50 to 55 minutes of which is in the air.

IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ

• Before taking your introductory flight lesson, you MUST provide a valid (NOT expired) government issued photo ID. If you do not provide a valid photo ID, you will be unable to take your introductory flight. There are no exceptions. 

• The Explorer is only available to someone with no prior flight experience. There are no exceptions to this policy per TSA Regulations.

• The minimum age to take an introductory flight lesson is 15 years old.
• Weight is limited to 300 pounds for the pilot.
• All LFTC Introductory Flight customers are subject to the Introductory Flight Cancellation Policy. Customers must contact LFTC directly to cancel or reschedule an Introductory Flight reservation.
• A cancellation made within 24 hours of the scheduled reservation, or a failure to arrive for the reservation without prior notice (no-call/no-show), is considered a late cancellation.
• The customer’s first late cancellation or no-call/no-show will be waived. If the customer late cancels or fails to appear for a second scheduled reservation, the Introductory Flight Gift Certificate will be used to pay the late cancellation fee in full.
