Multi-Engine Rating Commercial Add-On
Take your training to the next level and become a Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot in our Diamond DA42 NG, one of the most advanced training aircraft in general aviation. This accelerated program is designed to get you proficient, confident, and ready for the checkride
Course Overview
For the Multi-Engine Add-On rating, there is no knowledge test or minimum flight time required for the course. Only ground and flight proficiency required to pass an oral and practical test with an FAA examiner. The course will be a 7-10 day program with a checkride on the final day of the course.
Instrument Proficiency is required prior to beginning the course as a portion of the checkride will include an approach on a single-engine.
The first day of the Multi-Engine Add-On course will be a classroom ground led by one of our experienced MEI’s. Days to follow will include the flight training required in the DA42 to prepare you for the checkride. The syllabus to be utilized is designed specifically for this course.
Redbird AATD (Simulator)
This course includes unlimited use of our Redbird SD simulator equipped as a G1000 Diamond DA42. The course incorporates the simulator, which helps pilots get familiar and practice flows and procedures in the aircraft.
Course Pre-Requisites
- Must hold a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating
- Must be a US Citizen or hold TSA Approval for training
- Must be instrument proficient and current
- A valid FAA medical certificate (minimum third class)
Pricing Structure
The total cost for the course is $6,495 before tax.
Pricing Includes
- Up to 10 hours of dual instruction in the state-of-the-art Diamond DA42NG
- Unlimited use of the Redbird Simulator
- 8 Hour ground school
- Pre/Post flight briefings for lessons within the 10 hours of dual instruction
Pricing Does Not Include
- Excess hours required will be billed at $425/hr for Aircraft (DA42NG) and $85/hr for MEI
- Does not include Examiner Fees (Typically between $700 and $1,200)
- Does not include expenses incurred for checkrides that occur at airports other than KLUK
